Annake was born and educated in Bloemfontein. It was at school, under the guidance of John Wille, that she realised that music was her future. During this time, Annake was in the top 3 in the SAMRO competition for overseas studies, as well as in the finals of the UNISA grade VIII competition.

Annake graduated with a B.Mus., and then joined the esteemed PACT Orchestra at the State Theatre. She performed with them for the next 2 years.

She then moved to London, and after studying at the Trinity College, she spent the next 3 years working in England, Brazil and the Middle East, teaching English and playing music.

Returning to South Africa, she continued her musical career and is currently a member of the Johannesburg Festival Orchestra, the Johannesburg Philharmonic Orchestra and the Chamber Orchestra of South Africa.

Enjoying light music, Annake has starred in the much acclaimed “Rock Me Amadeus”, “Roll Over Beethoven” and “Sonder Grense”. She was part of the first ever DVD recording made in South Africa starring Mathys Roets.

Annake is a vibey, spunky performer, appearing regularly at Arts Festivals including the Grahamstown Festival, Aardklop and the KKNK.
