HAVANA GAS comprises the talents of 5 of SA’s most exceptional musicians.
STORM CAMPBELL – BASS & VOCALS – released her self titled CD late last year. The album reached number 2 on the South African Rock Digest Charts and the single “Don’t be a Stranger” is currently being played on radio stations across the country. She is a distinctive, vibrant and versatile vocalist who constantly surprises and impresses audiences. She studied bass at the Pretoria Tech Jazz School.
DOUG CAMPBELL – GUITAR & VOCALS – signed with Virgin Records in the UK, where Sting produced 3 of his songs. He co-wrote the music for the hit movie “Heel Against the Head” and collaborated in writing the score for an international TV series filmed in Europe. He also studied guitar at the Pretoria Tech.
PHILIP HOLDER – SAX’S – has worked with jazz legends like Bruce Cassidy, Johnny Fourie and Izio Gros. A graduate of Pretoria Tech, he is a seasoned session musician and arranger, playing tenor, alto and soprano saxophones.
NEILL ETTRIDGE – DRUMS – toured Europe, Australia and the Far East with Mango Groove and the Soweto String Quartet. He is SA’s foremost session musician, appearing on numerous jingles, recordings and TV.
LORRAINE SHANNON – KEYBOARD & VOCALS is a well-known session musician and pianist who toured Germany, Switzerland, Hong Kong and Singapore. She is the pianist for the Jo’burg pops and has made numerous television appearances. She also released her own CD with Transistor Records.
