Jacques Lagesse is a solo entertainer with a velvet lined voice, accompanied by the mellow tones of the acoustic and jazz guitars. Apart from the soft percussive rhythm machine, all music is played entirely live. No pre-programming of any synthesizers or pre-recorded backing tapes is present. A minimal set-up space will be required.
An audio engineer by profession, Jacques has placed great emphasis on sound – a soothing non-intrusive ambience is guaranteed.
Often referred to as a “Satin Suited Soloist”, his repertoire consists mainly of a popular brand of laid back jazz standards and evergreen romantic ballads.
Born from Mauritian stock, Jacques has a strong flair for Latin rhythms and has included many Bosa Nova and Samba tunes to his list of 200 songs plus.
Apart from performing at classy company cocktails and functions around the country with his full compliment of music and PA equipment, he has the ability to perform without any power source (“unplugged” is the term we use…).
